Make Lotion For Natural Hair Or African American Skin Care
Talk It Out Tuesday on SoapQueen.com did a blog post on making lotions. Check it out: All Things Lotion
Hair milks, creams, lotions are all about the same with varying amounts of water/liquid. Here is the recipe that was posted on the Soap Queen Blog:
18 oz. Distilled Water
1.2 oz. Shea Butter
1.7 oz. Sweet Almond Oil
1 oz. Avocado Oil
1.2 oz. Emulsifying Wax
1 oz. Stearic Acid
.2 oz. Phenonip
.1 oz. Fragrance
The post also goes into detail about emulsifiers, preservatives, and how to add color. I’ve made lotion before but, it didn’t turn out so great…I’ll try again soon and update y’all of course.
Hopefully, you can start making your own lotions and come up with some nice hair care products for yourself and save a few bucks!
