I remember in the 1970s when I was nearly 4 years old watching my grandmother watch "Eye Witness News" on television in Houston, Texas. She would be sound asleep so I would get up (this was before remotes) and try to change the channel. She would immediately wake up and say, "Boy turn that back I was watching that!" "No you wasn't you was sleep", I would silently say to myself.
Sometimes as African Americans we live our lives as if we are not affected by the many things that are goin on around us that actually do impact us. We hear about wars in Ukraine, wars in Africa, multiple Haitian presidents being killed, but we say "that has nothing to do with me".
Its easy to look a someone else and see that they have diabetes or they have cancer and we say "ok, omma pray fo ya". I guess I was the same way. I would see people with cancer (my mother worked for the largest cancer hospital in the world for 30 years), never would have thought I would one day be sitting in their lobby center stage.
I never had a thought of creating a hair grease. I never even considered creating a natural hair product for black womens natural hair styles to go against non-Black Owned cancer causing products. Why? Because it didn't affect me right? Boy was I wrong. After 3 months of chemo-therapy for 8 hours a day 5 days a week, watching my hair fall out (caught on video), sores in my mouth, lesions on my body, severe pain, black fingernails, decided to change that!
and here it is... An All Natural Hair grease without any of the cancer causing ingredients.
