Question: So, I was wondering if you have any tips or info on homemade leave in spray conditioners I can make myself ?
DIY Hair Care Answer: There are plenty!
- Vegetable Glycerin and Water. Vegetable Glycerin can be found at any Health Food store. Ratio 4:1 (4 parts water to 1 part glycerin)
- Honey, Olive oil and Water. Ratio 1:1:1 (1 part honey to 1 part olive oil to 1 part water). If it feels oily, use less oil.
- Water and Aloe Vera Juice. Ratio 1:1 (1 part water to 1 part aloe vera juice)
- Castor oil and Olive oil or Coconut oil. Ratio 1:1 (1 part castor oil to 1 part olive or coconut oil)
Additionally, there are some tea rinses you can do in the shower such as black tea & green tea; these work great if you want to get out of the shower and go.
I suggest you adjust the recipes to your liking. Make sure you use enough water or else the castor and vegetable glycerin can be sticky.
Spritzing your hair with these right after a shower or while in the shower will give your hair an instant steam treatment because they will soak up the water in the air and make your hair soft!
