I’m sure you’ve browse through a number of natural hair websites. But, now here comes the hard part: Which companies should you buy from?

Here are 6 Deal Breakers to Keep in Mind BEFORE You Start Shopping:

By pass the companies that for some odd reason fail to offer a discount. Spend your hard-earned cash on the brands that CAN’T WAIT for you to visit their site & have literally gone out of their way to offer the best discounts just for you. This is a great way to try new brands that you haven’t heard of or have always wondered about, often at a STEAL of a price.

2. Check those Ingredients!

My hair is currently on a strict silicone-free diet after seeing my coils fizzle into a hot mess after trying out a late-night infomercial co-wash. As you peruse through the web don’t get caught up in a flashy name and a good price! Look at those ingredients to make sure that the product fits YOUR hair needs and goals.

3. Needs vs. Wants > Choose Wants!

I always buy the staples- conditioners, styling creams, oil. Don’t stop there- Branch out and try some of those delicious hair teas, pomades, or “elixirs” that these creative companies are coming up with. Trying new products is part of the fun!

Have too many companies on your list and don’t know which products to buy? Narrow it down by reading reviews or watching product reviews on youtube. Keep in mind, the reviewer may not have the same hair type as yours, or may be combining your coveted product with others that may lead to their hair results. Look at reviews that match your hair type and go with your gut.

Is the product share-worthy? We all have a friend (or two) that FINALLY decided to jump on the bandwagon and go natural! Be a friend worth keeping and share the wealth. Help your fellow newbies by explaining hits and misses from the brands you’ve tried already. Take a moment to explain how to properly use items on their wish list. Every newbie needs a friend during those trying natural hair moments because when you’re feeling style and product challenged, it’s so easy to go back to creamy-crack.
